Job Fair Draws Hundreds
Over 250 job seekers attended the Hall Ambulance Job Fair on September 20, 2014, in hopes of securing employment with the private, pre-hospital care provider.
With job histories and resumes in hand, they visited booths representing each division within Hall Ambulance including: Hall Critical Care Transport, Operational Communications Division, Business Office, Facilities Maintenance, Administration and Hall Commercial Vehicle Service inside the Hall Ambulance Community Center, located in downtown Bakersfield.
The majority of attendees were interested in applying for the upcoming Hall EMT Academy, which provides paid training in an accelerated format. The Hall EMT Academy is not a school, but a pathway to a career at Hall Ambulance Service.
The marketing campaign for the job fair, which included social media and radio advertising promoted the concept, “Fast-track Your Career in EMS,” which profiled four Hall Ambulance employees who were stuck in unsatisfied jobs; enrolled in the Hall EMT Academy; attended Company-sponsored paramedic school and promoted to a paramedic field supervisor or administrative position, in a relatively short time period.
While the majority of job seekers were from Kern County, several made the trip up from southern California to get a first-hand look at Hall Ambulance, which maintains a highly-regarded reputation amongst the nation’s private ambulance providers.
During the job fair, applicants were able to complete their application using Panasonic Toughbooks, the same as the ones used in the field by paramedics to complete patient care reports; however, with the attendance at the job fair being much greater than anticipated, additional Toughbooks were set-up to meet the need.
Outside, attendees were able to tour a Hall Advanced Life Support/Paramedic Ambulance, with paramedic field supervisors on-hand to talk about the sophisticated medical equipment they use to save lives, while sharing what it is like to work in emergency medical services.
The Hall Job Fair was considered a great success with nearly 150 individuals starting the application process for the Hall EMT Academy, or to work as a paramedic, EMT, or accounting clerk.
