Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Renewal Course
This 1 day course focuses on updating the provider on management of acutely ill pediatric patients. Students are introduced to special considerations in the assessment and management of acutely ill pediatric patients. Lecture topics include respiratory failure, shock, and prevention of cardiac arrest. We will also complete skill stations teaching advanced airway management, vascular access, and cardiac rhythm disturbances. The course concludes with practical and written evaluations.
Upon successful completion students will receive a PALS recognition card from the American Heart Association.

Prerequisites
This course is recommended for paramedics, nurses, respiratory therapists and physicians who have a current PALS provider card. Having a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) card is strongly recommended. Students must complete all pre-course material prior to the beginning of class.
Required Materials
Course fee includes your required textbook. Textbooks are available at 2001 “O” Street or the can be mailed with two weeks prior notice.
